System control

The system control for electric heating systems is an essential component that not only performs process and control tasks, but also is used to monitor and protect the heating system. It ensures an efficient and safe operation.

The following is a selection of important tasks and functions performed by the system controller in electric heating systems.

The primary task is to control the heating power. Depending on customer requirements or the application, appropriate contactors or thyristor controllers are used in the system control.   Monitoring functions such as temperature and power monitoring can be implemented using appropriately designed and integrated sensors. Fault diagnoses and the visualization of operating states can be tracked in real time. Safety precautions such as overcurrent protection, overtemperature protection and residual current circuit breakers protect the heating system from damage and users from potential hazards.

Depending on the heating system, the switchgear control panel distributes the electrical current to different heating circuits or heating groups. It is designed to manage the loads efficiently and distribute them as gently as possible.

Depending on the application, the UNIPLEX heating controller specially developed by Klöpper-Therm is used frequently. This combines a temperature controller, safety temperature limiter and current controller in one space-saving device.

Kloepper-Therm

For heating systems consisting of many individual electrical heating circuits, our UNIWIN visualization software provides a clear view and convenient operation of the UNIPLEX III and thus offers access to the current status of the associated heating circuits.

The sizes of our control panels vary from small switchboxes and control panels in wall cabinets to switchgears with several panels, divided into feed-in, power control, power distribution and control section.

To enable centralized control and monitoring, Klöpper-Therm switchgears can be integrated into plant control systems. This is particularly advantageous for complex heating systems and large installations.

As personal safety plays a special role in cold store construction, our heating control systems are supplemented by special emergency call alarm systems. Our emergency call alarm systems work safely even in the event of a temporary power failure and can therefore enable people in distress to call for help.

With their extensive experience, our electrical engineers will be happy to plan your switch distribution to suit the respective heating system.
