Heating cables and heating tapes

Our heating cables and heating tapes are specially designed for use in demanding areas such as the chemical, refinery, and power plant industries. They ensure reliable temperature control and are also suitable for potentially explosive environments.

Constant resistance cables 

Constant resistance cables are predominantly single-core heating cables/heating wires with the following characteristics:

  • defined resistance per meter
  • Constant heating output across the entire temperature range
  • variable connection voltage up to 690 volts
  • Optimal monitoring through series connection of resistors
  • Simple heating circuit design for long pipes with only one feed
  • reduced cabling requirements
  • Can be used in potentially explosive atmospheres, also in ATEX-certified design

 

Constant resistance cables are mainly divided into two groups. 

Single-core plastic heating cables (EKL)

Mineral-insulated heating cables (MI)

Self-limiting heating tapes (SBH)

Our self-limiting heating cables have a heating element between their two connections that allows less current to flow at higher temperatures, thereby reducing the power output in a self-limiting manner. Here, we rely on products from HEAT TRACE, one of the world's leading manufacturers of heating cables. The main features are as follows:

  • Easy handling

Self-limiting heating tapes are suited for frost protection and the maintenance of process temperatures up to 150 °C, periodically up to a maximum of 250 °C saturated steam..

Parallel heating tapes (PHB)

In contrast with the self-limiting heating tapes, parallel heating tapes do not have a temperature-dependent heating element and thus have a constant heating capacity output.

 

For all heating cables, heating lines, and heating tapes, assembly-friendly connection components and various fastening materials are available.
